It is with great pleasure that we announce the re-opening of Vancouver Audio Speaker Clinic on Monday April the 23rd 2012. Against all sage advice and even common sense Mr. Tom Lunderville, the man who started this mess in 1972 has taken the reins. All of our shop policies will remain the same, friendly service, free estimates and our three year warranty. We are going to strive to maintain the high standards set by the departed David Lee of honest repairs, business integrity, and technical excellence. Our hours are 11 to 6 Monday to Friday and 11 till 2 upon Saturdays.
We repair loudspeakers.
We are brilliant and talented speaker repair specialists. We've been
doing it since 1974, so there are very few speakers that we haven't
worked on. We have repaired hundreds of examples of the more popular
models, so we know their characteristics very well. Our brands
page lists the stuff we've worked on, some household names, some truly
obscure. We repair, recone, and rebuild loudspeakers, and we love our
work, but we leave electronic repairs (even on our own stuff) to our qualified friends, who also enjoy their work.
If you have old speakers that you no longer want, that need repairs, we may be able to repair and recycle them to another owner, but please phone us first.
We provide free speaker testing (sometimes while you wait) and
free estimates before we begin work, together with a 3-year parts and
labour warranty on everything we do. We even have a philosophy about doing a good job at a fair price. Pretty cerebral stuff for speaker repair guys. We have included some details about our history.
Our workshop is a few yards south of Broadway, halfway between Main
Street and Fraser Street, Vancouver, and there is usually free parking
on Guelph Street. If the street is unusually busy, there are a couple of
handy loading/unloading spots just behind the building. The image below
shows the local area. If you need more detail, use this Mapquest link for a real, live interactive map.
For professional speaker servicing, our turn-around target is 3
days, while hi-fi speakers are generally repaired in 7 days. We keep
thousands of parts in stock, but if a part is not in stock, getting it
adds about 7 days. Our workshop is very small, so we appreciate
customers picking up their repaired speakers promptly.
If you need to ship your speakers to us we use and recommend Greyhound
Express for local or regional customers. If you are shipping from other
provinces or countries, please call to determine the best and safest
carrier.
We work 11am to 6pm Monday to Friday, and 11am to 2pm on Saturdays.
Banker's hours, unfortunately without banker's renumeration. We accept
cash or cheques, but our new Shaw Cable digital phone lines are not compatible with our analog debit/credit card machine, so we can't take debit or credit cards.
